Clan History - The Story So Far.... |
RIGHT AS REIGN - The now famous Xbox live clan came to be on the 31st of March 2005, the game that inspired Spiggy the kat to create the clan was HALO 2. At first recruitment was slow with just 3 other players signing on the dotted line they were Giant Lobot (a work colleague of Spiggy) ShakyG and a now departed American called CMO1.
On the 27th of April Right As Reign made a rather shaky start losing 3-0 at fast assault on Midship, Myself and Lobot were dyed in the wool Rumble Pitters, the team based objective game went straight over our heads and we'd lost before we knew what was going. In the meantime Spig was busy creating a clan website. Recruitment continued, people came and went, those who stayed are still here now.
Some of our top players were now in place, JesterFX who joined (then left through no fault of his own until we met up again on Colossus) Pork Pie Eyes was recruited after protracted negotiations on Bungies forums. We now had our nucleus of regular players and so clan games became a more regular occurence. We even won some, which was nice.
The website was gathering pace at a phenominal rate with the launch of the clan forum, which has proved popular with most members.
We went European and recruited some Dutchmen, they played, they wanted to be Overlords, they left ho hum.
Clan matches continued to be played, Jesters dislike of CTF became apparent, Lobot not knowing what to do with the flag was hilarious, Jester and Pork Pie became accomplished snipers and Spiggy drove Warthogs.....badly.
Rainbow Six Lockdown came out and gave us another opportunity to show our skills. It lagged really badly. Everybody had a specific role -
Spiggy - Commando
Pork Pie Eyes - Engineer
Smackemup - Another Commando
JesterFX - Spec Op
Giant Lobot - (female!!!)Medic
We didn't play a huge amount of clan games with this as the Live system it employed was unfortunately poor, luckily another game was just around the corner...
...That game was Battlefield 2 Modern Combat. Now this was a game with the potential to displace the mighty Halo 2 as the discerning FPS gamers game of choice, just a shame that you have to rely on EA's dodgy servers.
Undaunted various Right As Reign members took to the Battlefield, new members came aboard for the ride including Rowdyman (world's coolest yank) The Mighty Het (I want that tank) AT Ada and long time Jesters friend Sonicmark 1987.
We've never had a clan match with this as the dodgy EA servers make it practically impossible to find another clan at any given time
Our ranks continued to play and on occasion we had several of the brotherhood on the same server, these games we showed our potential by always finishing amongst the top players.
Jester has a great kill/death ratio, Pork Pie is incredibly accurate, Lobot uses more bullets than the average war (in ten minutes!) and Spiggy drives Humvees....badly.
The 360 came and the first game we played as a clan was GRAW but the spawn killing got really annoying so we messed about on various other things whilst Spiggy drove fast cars on PGR3.....badly.
Splinter Cell Double Agent was the first game that really caught the clans imagination on 360 though no clan matches were played. We got together often to sneak about in the dark and it became a perfect showcase for Spiggys gung-ho spy methods (run at mercs dropping flashbangs, quickly duck behind them and snap neck)
Gears of War was played for awhile with some success until the CoG incident which nearly split RaR but Spiggy pulled the clan together with the help of Rainbow Six Vegas which is still our number one game. We've had some success with Vegas, Quarter Finalists of the 1st Matchbox tournement, 6th in the Ubi Attack & Defend league (we don't play A&D, entered for a laugh) and overall have a pretty even record.
Vegas also brought about the Scouse invasion of the RaR ranks with the Reeves family firmly entrenching themselves in the Rainbow team
After the success of the RaR Rainbow squad we went in search of other games to play including the Ill fated Halo 3 which has had many iterations of Right As Reign teams with Division leaders leaving/being asked to leave due to internal clan strife. Halo 2 was where the clan begun but Halo 3 seemed to be cursed.
Call of Duty 4 was played with some success but respawn gametypes are not really what we're about so it was cast aside due the imminent release of Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Right As Reign were back in Vegas where they belong and a new chapter of clan history will be written in sin city.
I remain positive that the future of Right As Reign will be bright indeed, you may want to bring your sunglasses as we continue our march to the forefront of xbox live gaming.
